News: TI Released From Prison… Again

by DG

The King of the South is one step closer to just being on papers. Check the report TMZ just released below.

T.I. has just returned to a halfway house to complete his prison sentence — this after he was yanked out of the halfway house last week and returned to prison for allegedly engaging in shenanigans on his tour bus.

As TMZ first reported, prison officials sent U.S. Marshals to the halfway house last week, after concluding T.I. had unauthorized people on the bus that transported him there. Officials also claimed T.I. conducted business on the bus — something his reps strongly deny.

T.I.’s lawyer, Steve Sadow, tells TMZ, “We have good reason to believe that this favorable result was reached because of the proactive and assertive approach taken to protect T.I.’s rights by providing B.O.P. officials and the media with reliable and accurate information and that T.I. did not intend to violate his transfer furlough or any other B.O.P. rules en route from the prison facility in Arkansas to the halfway house in Atlanta.”

Sadow adds, “T.I. will be released from custody on Sept. 29, and then will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for a period of 1 year.”

Rest in Peace: M-Bone of Cali Swag District Murdered

by DG

M-Bone — aka Montae Talbert from the rap group Cali Swag District — was next to his car in front of an Inglewood, CA liquor store at 11:32 PM Sunday when shots rang out.  Our sources say the shooter was driving down La Brea Avenue alone in his car when he fired.

Inglewood detectives are investigating, but right now it looks like M-Bone was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We’re told M-Bone, who became famous with his group for the song, “Teach Me How to Dougie,” was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

It’s sad to see this still happening after so many years. Above is what TMZ reported earlier. See a video and read more at TMZ.

Problems Addin Up: Rick Ross Arrested for Possession of Kush

by DG

Big night for the coppers down in Shreveport, LA — rapper Rick Ross and Philadelphia Eagles star Jason Peters were both arrested last night in separate incidents.

First, let’s talk about Ross — according to police, he was busted last night for possession of marijuana. Cops say they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from his hotel room and when police investigated, they spotted approximately a gram of it in plain view.

He was popped and released on a misdemeanor summons.

Now for Peters … he was busted for a loud music violation and resisting an officer after cops asked him to turn down the music in his car and he refused. Police tell us they asked Peters for his ID several times, but he refused that too. Poor choice.

According to reports, Ross was in town to perform at a nightclub and Peters was one of the celebrity guests. Good times.

World Star Hip-Hop and On Smash Shut Down …by 50 Cent?

by DG

Worldstarhiphop.com and Onsmash.com have been shut down by Homeland Security. For On Smash, this is the second time in a couple months. They are claiming copyright infringement and 50 cent may be behind all of it. He is claiming to have done this via his twitter account but I’m not quite sure about that. Although, world star does post a lot of copyrighted material, why would they wait until now to shut them down? 50 Cent may be using this for as a promotional tool. ESPN Town Hall Meeting: Image of the Black Athlete

by DG

I watched this the other night on ESPN and was very fascinated. Spike Lee, Jalen Rose, John Calipari, Marion Jones, Randy Shannon, and Michael Wilbon were on the panel. Many of the problems they discussed are hardly mentioned in the media but always talked about within black communities.  I believe this is a very critical conversation to have and hope this spurs some type of debate. Hit the jump below to watch the meeting which took place in the church Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. preached in; Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, GA.

News: New York Man Inherits 241k From the Woman He Killed

by DG

Brandon Palladino, 24, admitted to killing his 59-year-old mother-in-law Dianne Edwards in 2008, after she caught him trying to steal jewelry from her Long Island home, the New York Post reported. He was sentenced to 25 years in jail, minus time served, in a plea deal.
Edwards’ only daughter, Deanna Palladino, 23, inherited all of her mother’s worldly possessions — worth roughly $431,000 — but after using roughly $190,000 of her mother’s money on her husband’s defense, Deanna died in February, leaving everything to Brandon, the Post reported.
“It’s an outrage. He can’t have that money — it’s just not right. It’s ludicrous,” Donna Larsen, Edward’s sister, told the New York Post.
Larsen, who says Deanna was involved in the deadly robbery and attempted to cover it up, told the Post she believes her niece purposely overdosed on drugs out of guilt.
Larsen said she plans to ask Suffolk Supreme Court Justice Robert Doyle to force Palladino to give up Edwards’ remaining legacy — roughly $241,000, or lose his plea-bargain deal.

Former Bad Boy Rapper G-Dep Confesses to Murder From 17 Years Ago

by DG

It took nearly two decades, but the guilt of murder finally became too much for Trevell Coleman.

Wednesday night, after years of living with the burden, Coleman, 36, walked into the 25th Precinct and shockingly confessed to the very cold case, the sources said.

The career criminal — once signed to superstar rap mogul Shawn “Diddy” Combs’ record label — was just 18 when he fatally shot a Queens man outside an East Harlem housing project in 1993, police sources said.

“I shot and killed someone 17 years ago,” Coleman told a cop in the station house.

As Coleman continued to reveal more details of the Oct. 19, 1993, murder of John Henkel outside the James Weldon Johnson Houses — things only the killer would know — the officer reached out to investigators at the 23rd Precinct, where the crime took place.

“It was just eating away at him,” said a police source.

Coleman, who grew up in the projects, told cops he was riding a bike when he rolled up on Henkel, 32, on Park Avenue and East 114th Street and announced a robbery.

Coleman told Detective William Dunn that Henkel resisted and grabbed his .40-caliber gun.

He allegedly admitted that he pulled away and shot his victim three times in the chest.

Coleman said he fled and tossed the weapon into the East River.

Henkel was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Problems Addin Up: Floyd Mayweather Jr. Arrested on Battery

by DG

LAS VEGAS — Police say boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. has been freed from a Las Vegas jail following his arrest on a misdemeanor warrant alleging he poked a security guard in the face last month outside his home.

Police Officer Jacinto Rivera said Friday that Mayweather’s release without bail from the Clark County jail came less than 12 hours after his arrest late Thursday at a Las Vegas-area casino.

Mayweather lawyer Richard Wright says the 33-year-old Mayweather has a Tuesday court date.

The warrant stems from a battery charge alleging Mayweather poked a 21-year-old security guard in the face during a Nov. 15 argument over parking tickets.

Mayweather had been free on bail on unrelated felony charges stemming from a September dispute with his children and their mother.
